“Extreme Makeover: Christian Education as Spiritual Formation”
Columbia Theological Seminary’s Colloquium 2008, April 14-16, 2008 features Rodger Nishioka and Kathy Dawson, Eileen Lindner, and Jerome Berryman. The event focus is on the task of Christian education, broadly defined as spiritual formation or making of disciples.
“Show Up and Shelve It” – Resource Center Day – Postponed
The re-shelving of Resource Center material has been postponed until 2:00 pm, March 25. The Education & Nurture Division members and any who would like to join them in this process will gather for this task.
You are invited to come and help us get the material back in the correct order.

Leaders send thanks to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.
Leaders from the five Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) presbyteries most impacted by three devastating hurricanes in 2005 have issued an open letter to the denomination thanking the many Presbyterians who have supported them with prayers, finances, and presence. The letter also thanks Presbyterian Disaster Assistance and the General Assembly Council for their partnership of trust and patience.
Unrestricted mission revenues, special offerings, & curriculum sales all exceed expectation.
Receipts for money that is not designated for a particular purpose and can be used to fund the church’s mission as needed, exceeded budget projections by $254,000.
Darlington Presbyterian Church Preaching Mission, February 24-26, 2008
Dr. Leslie Holmes, former pastor of Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church, Lexington, SC, will be featured at the Darlington Presbyterian Church Preaching Mission. He currently spends his time traveling the country sharing his love of Jesus Christ and the gospel.
Williamsburg Presbyterian Church Revival, February 24-26, 2008
Williamsburg Presbyterian is having a revival, "Fire Up the Faith." It will take place Sunday Feb. 24- Tuesday Feb. 26. Rev. Jim McKinnon is preaching Sunday morning and Sunday night. Dr. Ella Busby is preaching Monday and Tuesday. Special music each night. The services begin at 7:00.
Hopewell Men's Club Barbecue - February 27
The Men’s Club of Hopewell Presbyterian Church – 5314 Old River Road in Florence -- will hold their Barbecue Chicken Fundraiser on Wednesday, February 27 from 12:00 - 7:00. You can eat in or carry out. For $6.00 you get half a barbecued chicken, beans, corn on the cob and bread. The Presbyterian Women’s group will also be selling pies and cakes.
All proceeds will be used by the Men of the Church and Presbyterian Women to help those in need in the community and around the world and with other special projects.
